Wolfpack Picnic Highlights
|
|
If ice hockey is the coolest game on earth, than it only fitting that the first annual Wolfpack Picnic take place on the coolest day this summer!
On August 17, the Woodbridge Wolfpack Hockey Club got together at Fords Park for a day of good food catered by D'April, great music supplied by the Club's very own Tom Manfredi and a fabulous showing of hockey players, their coaches at every level and of course their families.
Coach Paul Losik filled the day with hockey related games and skill builders. Players and parents geared up for some roller hockey and some even spent their time at (believe it or not) a non-frozen pond!
Linda Purn, President of the organization along with the tremendous efforts of the Rogan and Fee families pulled off an event that even tempted Mayor McCormac and Council Woman Carol Ehrlich to stick (no pun intended) around.
The day was filled with talk of the upcoming season; one anticipated to be successful. Well wishes were exchanged as the day concluded and it's safe to say that the first ever picnic was a winner and should be a repeat!

MITES FINISH
ON TOP OF THE PACK! |
| The Wolfpack Mites finished
their quest for a perfect season at the NJYHL Mite
Atlantic Division Playoffs. The Wolfpack went 15-0-1 in
League play and had to face their much respected rival
the Cranford Hockey Club in a chance to be crowned
champions at Floyd Hall Arena in Montclair, NJ. The
game was skated to scoreless two periods with back and
forth play of these determined two teams. The Wolfpack
Mites got on the board late in the third period to take
the lead. With only a few minutes remaining in the hard
fought battle the Wolfpack Mites struck again to clinch
the championship with the 2-0 win over Cranford Hockey
Club. The Wolfpack Mites skated hard all season for
coaches Paul Losik and Ryan Carter and finished up the
season on top. The Mites next challenge is the NJ Reads
Tournament at Princeton Sports Center in early March,
where last years mite team took home gold. Best of Luck
to the Mite Team from the Wolfpack Hockey Club. |
